Newbe needs help...

Help... I want to learn something about games making. But there is so much that i dont know wich tutoral/site is good. Somebody knows a good tutorial/site to start?

A little question:

How are you started? I think there was a time that you didnt know anything about making games. Have you learnt it from books, sites or something else.

I don't think book's would be a great idea, you could probably start learning by your own as i did but i recommend you get a better start with some help, either by searching for good gamedeveloping sites, drop qwestions on this forum or ask help from an expert

matjong: I learned on my own as well. Basically what I did was browse through some gaming sites and practiced from those. The DirectX7 SDK helped me a lot as well. If you are really interested in gaming I suggest you download it.

Maybe a stupid question: Where have you download directX7 SDK?

It's on microsofts site, not to recommend if you don't have cable or something fast
