    change Ip address and workgroup

    is there a way to change Ip-address and Workgroup?

    I don't know for sure but maybe you should take a look at the command utilities in Windows, so you can call them from your vb program

    He probably meant , to use some DOS Commands like : ipconfig /all or ipconfig /renew ...etc . There are more for DNS , AD , getting some info about your network configurations . I wouldn't use that because it should be hidden in specific key in the reg , I don't know the exact location though .

    everywhere i searched, i read there isn't a key anymore in the registry for the wotrkgroup since windows95/98 or nobody has found it. Me neither.

    I've found the key's for the Ip address, but not for the workgroup name.
