I've heard quite a few times about how this site has grown very much since JM took over, yet I still only see 15-30 members on at a time. That's not even a shadow compared to the record of 156 (or something close to it).

So, for the administration, I'm wondering how statistics are taken? If it's soley based on the number of members, then that's a really poor statistic to base anything on.

How has the site's traffic changed in the past few months compared to the member base?

I generally see between 50 and 65 members online when I am online. The stats that I look at come from a variety of places. I can get a few stats from vBulletin. This includes information such as the last four months average number of new members is 122% of what it was for the prior four months. I can also see that while posts are up higher than they've been the last two years, the number of threads is down a little bit.

The other stats that I see are the total number of page views for the site. This comes from WebTrends.

50 to 65 members? Wow. We must come on at different times, then. I generally see about 20-30, although I don't always look.

Thanks for the information, Brad. :)

Oops, let me correct/clarify that number.

Right now there are 26 members and 30 guests for a total of 56.

The max number includes both members and guests as well.
