Winsock error
Hi,
I have a serious problem in using winsock control. I get the following error when winsock.listen is encountered:
Error: 10047
Address Family is not supported
I started getting this error after i updated win98. Would this have caused some problem? How do i rectify it? Kindly help.
TIA.
Ravi.

Hmm, not sure. Check that your network protocols (TCP etc) are all configured properly and bound to the proper adapters.
Are you on a LAN? Can you ping machines on the network? If youre using names rather than ip's try the ips instead.

Hi,
Yes, I am using a LAN & it is pinging perfectly. Our network seems to be working fine. I am using only IP addresses & not the system names as u have suggested, but the error persists. Anyway thanx for ur reply...

Here is a site that explains socket errors: http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/WSK-19980721-EM01.htm. You might find something there.

Sorry about that! I didn't notice that the period was included in the link when I previewed.
