I am interested in purchasing another license of VB6, however, I cannot find it anywhere!
Does anyone know where I would be able to buy a copy of VB6???

Try Amazon or Ebay. What version of it are you looking for Standard, Pro, Enterprise?

I'm not too sure what the difference between the 3 is... right now I am just looking for somewhere I can actually GET IT...
I looked on ebay.... amazon doesn't have it

When you say "I looked on ebay" does that mean you couldn't find it??? If you search for visual basic you'll get a bunch of hits. What you want is the professional or, if it's not much more money, the enterprise edition.

I found quite a few "visual studio" ... but i think I only found one relevant for "visual basic"

Do a search for visual basic professional. You'll get a half dozen or so including one that is selling for $21.50!

Is buying a copy of VB6 legal?
Can't you buy one from MS?
Cheers!

Why would buying a copy be illegal?
Anyone shed some light?

Anyone shed some light? Let's say you work months or years on a program. It's finally finished and you sell one to a friend. You expect to sell more but you find out that he has made a hundred copies and is selling them on eBay. By copying and selling your work he is basically stealing money from you.

I guess it depends on what you mean by 'copy'. If you mean a CDR (copied from original disc) or some such of actual software then sure it is illegal. If you mean the original disc (preowned) and materials then no its not illegal.

I know there are a lot of honest people on eBay, but there are also a lot of dishonest
What if the auction says "original" or "new but opened" etc... if I buy it and find out some time down the road it is not the original copy, I basically don't have a license right?
So, what would I do from there?
And well, i would actually prefer buying from a store. I can't find vb SIX anywhere though! Surely someone has seen it or knows where it can be bought!?!?

Oh my!
I was certainly not expecting a price that high!!! :(
How can it still be so expensive with .NET here??? :(
And plus its ONLY visual basic...
argh this sucks... I can't afford that right now... :(

I would go with the best one of eBay that says it's new.

If they say its an original disc and it turns out that its not then you could file a complaint with eBay for Fraud and get your money back. Also you'd know as soon as you saw it if its new or not.
I have a spare VB Learning Edition and VB Professional since later someone gave me Visual Studio for doing a job for them.

Maybe what version do you need? How much? I'll find all the original discs when I get home.

As of right now, I am only interested in Visual Basic 6... if you also have a copy of Visual Studio 6, might as well give me a price for that too. Feel free to PM me or just post a reply.

Have you tried looking for academic versions of VB Professional? I found one that was $100.
(That is if you are part of an academic institution...)

Its not for academic usage :(
I need an edition (pro/enterprise) that will let me sell products commercially.

Funny things happen when you have different versions of two different components in Visual Studio... :D
