I am trying to use ORACLE 8i with ADO 2.0 I have established the connection on two nodes successfully but on other two node I am getting following error when I use ADO Data Control to create connection string and Test the Connection "Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-00000". On these two problematic node I am able to communicate with ORACLE using SQL Plus Also suggest is there any way to uninstall and delete MDAC 2.0 so that it can be reload it. This problem has one solution that is format the hard disk and reload Windows 95, IE 4.01, DCON98, MDAC2.0. But I feel there should be another better way of resolving this problem.

there are some mdac diagnosic tools on the ms data acsses site
these tools (are supposed too!) allow safe removeal(of mdac), dll diagnostic`s ect
but these didnt work form me with mdac 2.5 i still ended up reinstalling win 2k
these tools will work with 95 95 98se and win2k
oracle is just pants with ado
ive had a few problems but mdac 2.5 works about the best as it has a lot of updates to the oracle oledb provider.it might be wise just to upgrade to this virson.
hope this is some help.
quick question?

I believe that stored procedures in the data environment are not supported. I have had no luck using the data environment. I could be wrong though. I have been able to call a stored procedure through code though.
