The purpose of this forum:
Discuss issues important to developers, ask for career advice, debate over which new technology is going to take over the software scene, ponder certifications, and contemplate over the meaning of all things technical.

Yeah I think the forum could need such a place to discuss it...and then all the "Should I use VB6 or .Net" and "Should I use C++ or VB" question could be thrown there to...and maybe make the answers stick there for ever....

I don't think this place is new any more ;)
Perhaps a more general announcement at the top is more relevant now ?

I want to ask about AJAX or MS' Version called ATLAS, where should I post my questions about it?

You could ask in the asp.net forum here, or to get a better answer, try

I hate to post on MS' forums like forums.microsoft.com and forums.asp.net because it takes few days before they validate your questions and most often they don't answer the questions.
I haven't tried the CodeGuru but I want to get stick in 1 forum only because I have to check other forums.
I know many VBF members also experience these problems.
Why won't create a new forum area about this topic?
It will benefit the members.
We can invite the developers of ATLAS or other AJAX Developers.

AJAX questions go in the XML/JS forum.
ATLAS-specific questions go in the ASP.NET forum.
AJAX itself is just a buzzword for a specific combination of technologies. It's not a technology itself, and I don't believe it is discussed as a single entity often enough on this board to warrant its own area.
Atlas is not a "Microsoft AJAX", it's an AJAX framework for ASP.NET.

Atlas was actually more of a beta name from MS, and has since been canned in favor of a few new names...

All equally catchy, I see.

I think they realized ajax was too much of a buzz word to leave it from the title.. so the stuck it with their ".NET" branding and there you have it ;)

Great to know. :)
So threads would go to their respective forums depending on the context being developed, but actually could go in either forum.
