To all those who are complaining about the somewhat recent attachment of spam in threads.

Why?

Jupitermedia obviously has no intentions to withdraw the advertisements.

This should be fairly apparent after their pathetic half-screen advertisements.

You are fighting where you ought to be flighting. Or of course you can accept it and ignore them.

I don't find it particularly difficult to tip my view down a bit.

Clicking the links only feeds those you hate.

Sure, the advertisements are arbitarily useless.

Of course, it doesn't matter if the typical users disapproves.

If I was a moderator of this site I would demand payment(or additonal payment, they're making more money, why shouldn't the mods?) from Jupitermedia for this spam. They seem like a greedy company that wouldn't want to comply with such a demand. In recourse the moderators go on strike.

Thus, any spammers can spam. Any jerk can be as jerky the jerk wants, and ultimately this forum would most likely suffer great loses in users. Then there is the obvious, losing the moderators programming expertise that helps users.

Of course convincing the mods to do so could be a problem.

The only problem with that is it will take too long for Jupiter to do anything about it (if they turn the mods down), which in turn is like punishing the users to get at Jupiter. Sounds like terrorism to me.

Terrorism? How dramatic!

It's simply chaos -anarchy.

Like, if you want to take over a country, take out the leaders. It's a fundamental startegy and, it's historically proven in it's efficiency.

DiGiTaIErRoR even if i cared what good would it do for me or any other mod to leave vbforums? It wouldnt solve anything since they would just make another person a mod. As for greed if they are making money then they are no different than anyone else i have encountered over my lifetime. I live in one of the richest counties in the united states and also where there is a high rate of disproportionate distribution of income so i am use to looking at people driving Volvos and Bmw's and use to working for a company where they pay you a crappy hourly rate and then when its time for them to give you your yearly raise they make up some excuse of why they can't , like the extra .50 would put them out of bussiness. So if Jupiter wants to post ads and make money then so be it. They are no different than other company or anyone else for that matter.

do some research pal, chaos is only an unpreventable side effect of anarchy. although thats only because someone's gonna get greedy....

Hey Guys,
This thread is going nowhere. I am going to close it. The ads are not going anywhere. They are what keep the forums up and running. We don't want to lose any members but as always you can't make everyone happy.
