I have an MDI form with a status bar control. One panel is set to the Insert key style. When I start the application, the "INS" on the panel is greyed out (disabled) - but when I enter text into the MDI child's textbox the insert key is actually enabled and my text is inserted. When I press the Insert key, the "INS" on the status bar panel is bolded (enabled), but now my textbox is in overstrike mode. It appears that the status bar panel reflects the opposite of the Insert key's actual state. Anyone seen this before? Is this a bug, or am I missing something? I am using VB4.

Hi,

I just tried what you said and i found that if i used VB5 sp2 statusbar then what you say is tru EXCEPT that the textbox remians in INS mode permanently
and if i use VB5 ps3 statusbar then INS panel starts bolded and gets dimmed (grayed) when i press INS key, but STILL textbox remains in INSERT mode
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Strange behaviour and very inconsistant.
