The Dell Deals posting is an approved advertisement. Please feel free to e-mail or PM any issues to my attention.
Obviously, this is an offer you can feel free to take advantage of, or simply ignore.

yeah... it is basically disguising a friggin add as a legit post in the forum.. when we all b!tched about the banners you guys said, the banners are at the tops and bottoms of the page, but they don't interfere with the actual board itself... well what are you gonna say about this???

Banners are fine, but why put the ad in a forum post?

because people click it... its just a clever ploy... no one clicks the banners... but people will click the post unsuspectingly

Sorry Matt, but that is not even a poor attempt at disguising an ad.
Well guys, I will give you this, it took longer than I thought. I understood the banner ads, you have to pay for the site somehow and I'm never one to deny anybody the opportunity to make a living, but this is the ugly in capitalism.
The advertisers apparently have spoken, its their forum now!

How much are all our email addresses worth? time to check out the privacy policy
:edit:
privacy policy

Well there you have it, if you consider users emails as an asset (which they are) they will sell them to spammers.

DeadEyes!
Good Point in a sideways sort of way!
If Dell Deals were a real person, a normal user, without any superpowers, who'd Actually participate in the forums, helping out, displaying How dell can actually be helpful, then I see no reason why they couldn't sig whatever they want!

Hey Brad,
How much for the banner ads at the top of the forum. Would really like a flash one for galah, that would really upset people. Oh and can we pre-book the top 5 threads in each forum for various other sites clearly they are for sale, and heck l worked for an outdoor advertising company so could probably help you guys out with booking software.
Come back Karl Moore all is forgiven .... or even John P and James we'll live with the sprinks advertising....
See no sig

Karl Moore bought and sold this site soo quick.
Oh and lost half the database, and caused a huge amount of downtime in the meantime too.
This administration is the first to actively listen to users' suggestions.
Having said that, this dell deals stuff... well the mods don't agree... and I would imagine this shouldn't happen again ?

However you forget that it was the prior administration that brought the site from this:
http://web.archive.org/web/200008231....vbforums.com/
...to this:
http://web.archive.org/web/200206031....vbforums.com/
That last link is, without doubt, the best iteration of VBF.

I'd have to say John and James listened to the most while they were around. When something was wierd or we wanted something we got it within about a month

Yeah that's because they were still writing vBulletin.
Once that had been finished, and the vbulletin.com forums were up and running, they didn't do very much.
If you check forum feedback, and, which you can't, check the moderator's forum, you'd see that.
