I recently started using AOL as my ISP and I found that I hated its email system. Among the several things that I didn’t like was the fact that when an incoming note contained a URL, the URL was not a hot link and I would have to cut and paste the URL into my browser in order to get to it. This was especially annoying to me since as you can imagine, I get a lot of post notifications from VBF and cutting and pasting each one was a real pain. (Maybe there’s a better way, but then again I’m an AOL-newbie). Anyhow I recently discovered eNetBot Mail. It's a
...POP3 / SMTP agent for AOL that allows you to read your AOL mail from any POP3 compliant email program, such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora and Netscape mail. You can also send mail from any SMTP compliant mail program.
You don't even have to open AOL in order to send and receive mail! I've used it now for several days with my copy of Outlook and have had no problems. The app is available at http://www.enetbot.com. You can download a 30-day trial and if you like it it’s only $19.95.
(I know that this wasn't a VB question, but I thought it was important, and anyhow I'm a Moderator :) )

Ok, i'm sorry but why did you choose AOL as an ISP?
I've been running AOL since AOL 3.0 and i think it sucks. I would have switched if my parents didnt like it so much (and they are even starting to hate it).
The browser sucks...so i have to use IE. The e-mail system sucks. The connections are way too slow even though i connect at 49333. I cant make my internet connection shared on my LAN. I get a crapload of junk mail and they say they are doing something about it..and that they blocked 1 or 2 billion e-mails..what happened? i get about 20 a day. The browser is about 30-50 mb so it sucks for dial-up users who have to download new versions. AOL also uses 30MB of my RAM (or thats what task manager says..right now it's at 27,436 kb). Oh, and apparently they log everyone's IMs and they keep the files for 10 days and then delete them. If they are logging that...what else are they doing?
Recently i've had someone logging into my e-mail and sending porn through it. I've been getting mailer-daemon error e-mails constantly..and i've even changed my password.
Someone tried using my sister's e-mail to send porn and people reported her and our account was suspended so we had to call AOL to get our passwords reset so we could log on.
There is only one thing i like about AOL and thats the pop-up blocker on the browser.
To me..it doesnt make sense why they are even still in business..

Basically I chose AOL because I got a year free with my new PC. By the time I realized the problems with the email I had notified dozens of places of my new email address and I didn't want to change it again.
If you want help with your hacking problems, try AntiOnline (http://www.antionline.com).

I deleted several posts from this thread. I would like to limit new posts in this thread to those that have to do with eNetBot or are related to it. Thanks.

You are not required to use dialup with AOL. You can use their broadband option, or DSL like I do. I also assume you can use a cable modem.

Yeah they have that bring your own access plan. The price is still $14.99 a month on top of your already expensive broadband bill. $40.00 a month for cable or DSL (thats the price for me..it's probably different for everyone else). Then add another $15 a month for a bunch of crap? They are charging me (well..my parents) $26.00 a month for dial-up service.
I've had tons of problems with people's computers when they try installing or running AOL. It's that AOL Adapter crap too. AOL doesn't support Linux either. PengAOL for Linux is hard to set up (or at least for me cause i'm a linux newbie..but i understand a lot of it).
