I'm looking for a piece of hardware that plugs into, and is controled by, one of the ports on my computer that acts like a power switch that turns the power on and off to some external device.
I'm looking for something like x-10, but more simple (and cheap) - it just turns the power on or off to 1 household ac switch.
What do i need????
Thanks!!

You could use the paralel (printer) port, which has 8 (er 13) outputs, if you connect relais to that you can easy switch 8 devices on and off.
