    Package & Depl -> Version control ???

    Hi all,

    I've built an application that I want to install on client PCs so I'm using the Package and Deployment Wizard or something like that for VB net, the one included in VS.NET.

    I can easily install my programm, that's not the problem... the problem is when I try to INSTALL A NEW VERSION of my programm... It keeps telling me to uninstall my prior version in order to install the newer version. I seriously don't want to uninstall the application each time a new version comes out... what should I do ? Anyone else has had this problem before ?

    thx alot !!!

    PS: ARGH ! I just found out my password for my old username.... I haven't posted for like 2 years but my old username is *Vince for those that might remember me... but then again... I doubt it !

    Click on your setup project, there is a 'RemovePreviousVersions' property you can set.

    Now, I don't know if it will just replace the old files with the new ones, or if it will install the new version along side the old one.... You are going to have to check that out.

    Good luck.

    Thx alot, I see the property, and tried it with differnet combinaisons BUT it doesn't seem to work... I read the HELP and it says exactly what I want... seems it's just not working right...

    Thx alot anyways, I'll relay that one to MS support

    Bump ^^

    I tried this and it's not working... I found 2 properties looking like something I need. Anyone else had problems with that... I'm with XP and I cannot understand how I'm the only one having this problem... it's gotta be something I do wrong but what ? I have no clue
