We have an ailing computer here....
We need to get all the files off of it and format. The commputer gives a blue screen when Windows 98 loads, and I can't get around it. I can boot in Safe Mode, but I can't get the CD Burner to work in Safe Mode.
We have thought of installing a network card and copying off the files - will Windows recognize new hardware in Safe Mode?
Our other option is to boot from a different hard drive and then burn the CD... I think the network card would be easier though - does anyone know if Windows will recognize the card in Safe Mode ?
Thanks heaps,

if it ever dies again, i think you can get dos NIC drivers, a dos TCP/IP stack, and dos NTFS (if you happen to have this happen on an NT system), and copy like that
but that would really, really take effort.
