translator program

i'm trying to create a program that translates words from french to english; from english to German but i'm not quite sure how to go about doing it. I need some ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

You could easily make a program to replace french words with the english word, but the grammer would be all wrong.

The logic to do that is way beyond the abilities of my little brain.
