Conexant Sound Quality
A co-worker of mine is about to buy an HP laptop (the ze5170) and he's concerned about the sound quality (he might be giving presentations with it). The sound chip it contains is a 16-bit Conexant (HP's spec sheet says it is Sound Blaster Pro compatible, if that means anything...)
Any experiences or opinions about this laptop/sound chip? Of course, he will not be relying to the laptop's speakers themselves.
Thanks.

If you can get the "CT" number from the chip... i'll soon tell you if it's worth buying!
Should be a CT5880, and therefore would be GR8.
Regards,
Paul.

Agreed....also try to figure out which AC97 rev. its up to. The higher the better...
But then again, it won't matter cause the speakers on laptops blow blow blow.
