getting my MFC app on win98

I have created a MFC application on my windows XP laptop with visual c++.net then tried to transfer the exe over to my 98 machien. It told me i needed a dll. So after giving it the dlls 1 by 1 after 15 mins it finaly didn't give me a message. BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. (it didn't bring up the dialog)

how can i make my MFC application on windows 98?

king_scott_2 :Why don't you link statically? If your MFC application is not using GDI+ related stuff, it should work in Win98 by right.

I am compleaty really really new at vc++ so I have no idea what a GDI is. Can you please explain the purpose of this.

Buy the way my friend came over and brought his win 85 machien over. I wanted to test some client/server apps on it (written in VB). BUT it started giving me the same problems that I am having with visual c++.net and win98. it asks me to locate down the dll files and when i transfer all of them over nothing happens. do you know of any runetimes of anything I could try downloading from the web. If you do can you PLEASE specify a web page

p.s Sorry for the lateness for this reply, I must have accedentlu deleted the e-mail with some junk and just found it today when I was cleaning out all my posted stuff

    Thanks for all your help

IMO you are too much a newbie to use MFC...

But keeping that aside, I see no reason why it should not work once the files are on the other PC.
