Ok... i want to begin programming in java, anybody recommend any books? I'm not a novice to programming, i'm used to the m$ style of programming, and now want to continue into java. Any recommendations for a beginners book would be greatly appreciated

hey man,
There is no need to buy a book for java. just go to the java.sun.com website and read through all of their tutorials and you should be good to go. I would say only buy a java book if you want to specialize in some area, after you learn the basic programming.
This worked for me.

I would suggest Beginning Java 2 by Ivor Horton or Core Java

I would suggest "A Programmers Guide to Java Certification" Munghal Rasmussen Published by Addison Wesley.
