word problem

Dear aallll,

in my system i cant able to see word extension files in msword symbol but i can able to open it by clicking and i try to repair the extension next time when the system restarted the same problem is continuing and i am able to c the files of msword in text format what may be the problem can anyone just helpme

Not totally sure what you mean there, but I'm guessing you're talking about one of the following:

If you can see word files on your pc & open them okay, but just can't see the extension, i.e. the icon shows up as Doc1 rather than Doc1.doc, then go into windows explorer & choose tools menu > folder options > view tab & uncheck the "hide file extensions for known file types" checkbox.

If you have some word documents on your pc, that when you double click to open, nothing happens, or the pc asks which program you want to open this with, then go into windows explorer & choose tools menu > folder options > file types tab. Click the doc entry in the listbox, then hit the change button, select Microsoft Word from the list & this should open any *.doc files with MsWord in future.

I got ure point as i am working as a system admin i tried all the possibilities which u told in ure reply infact i can able to repair excel and access files in the simillar manner what u told but i cant able to repair my word extension ofcourse i am able to repair but whenever the system restarts the word icon changes in to wordpad icon
