Do you remember when vbworld.com was down? what did you do? you redirected it to your website. Do you remember the complains? what did you answer? you said you will switch servers as soon as possible and put vbworld.com back up.

Stuck in the 80s
I don't ever recall them stating that they were going to put vbworld back up.
The only thing I ever heard was that they were going to incorporate all of the vbworld articles to developer.com.
Perhaps you could point us in the direction where it was stated that they would put it back?

aah I have to search all the posts when they switched, their reason was that vbworld's host wasn't working, and then they said they'll put it back up

This is the thread I think you are refering to, but no intimation was ever made that vbworld would be coming back up - in fact quite the opposite.

There is an unfortunate delay -- the VBworld site was supposed to continue until we had all the articles moved but something went wrong at the original VBworld server. Not sure why the old server went down. We haven't been able to reach the webmaster there. But within a few days, all of the old articles that are still relevant will be back.

I agree phrozeman. The old VBWorld site was great, easy to navigate and had a logical structure.
The incorporation of the old VB into the (already) current site seems shocking, is difficult to navigate and is quite off putting.
I thought that "big corporations" consulted experts on useability of their sites so that they could retain regular visitors.
This was a name that sprang to mind regarding useability: Jakob Nielson - http://www.useit.com/
I used that for a Multimedia assignment a while back; check it out.
