    scaning too slow

    hello,

    well...it used to scan fast when after any wrong shut-down...but it became too slow now...what do you think the problem is...

    win98se
    128 ram
    celeron 900

    use only 3 GB out of 40GB

    You need more ram...

    You may need more RAM. 128mb for today's standards is too low. It's also probably SD-R, which has been waived for DDR.

    Firstly, try new drivers for the scanner. Get them from your Manufacture's website.

    Actually... is the scanning process slow, or the package you use slow? It makes a BIG difference..

    I think there is a misunderstanding...I meant windows-scaning disk....it is too slow....not my scanner...

    Oh... the question wasn't very clear. Sorry.

    It probably takes longer to do scandisk because you have more files. Try running Defrag to sort-out all your files.

    something must be wrong. run checkdisk and norton disk doctor if you can.

    it shoudln't take very long at all to scan 3GB, unless its doing a surface scan.
