MSVB Error In MS Word 2000
Hello Everyone:
I keep getting an error message every time I start or close MS Word 2000.
Microsoft Visual Basic
Compile Error In Hidden Module: AutoExec
OK Help
I have run Detect and Repair in MS Word
I have reinstalled MSVB 6.0
I have run a search on all AutoExec files (AutoExec*.*),
Then I checked them all to see if anywhere hidden files.
None where!
Yes I have show-hidden files checked.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Art

Oh... not this little fault again!
Hi Art W.
This is quite a common fault, whereby the problem may occur if a third-party add-in program that is stored in the Startup folder for Office conflicts with Word.
Here's the fix...
1. Open My Computer
2. Goto drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup (where drive is the main drive where MS office is installed.
3. Remove all third party add-in files and re-start word
Make sure you store all the add-in files in a temporary directory, so you can add them ONE by ONE later. Each time you start word sucessfully, add one more file back into the startup directory, until it crashes. When it crashes, the last file you copied is the faulty file.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Paul.
