Hi,

I have a completed database front end created in VB5.

I used the Application Setup Wizard in order to create setup disks.

The installation completes with no errors and most users can run the database without any problems.

However, some users get the following error message at startup:

'The Jet VBA file (VBAJET.dll for 16-bit versions, or VBAJET32.dll for 32-bit versions)failed to initialize when called. Try reinstalling the application that returned the error.'

I've tries reinstalling and the same error occurs.

The file is being copied at installation. I've tried replacing it with the same file from my own machine (where the database does work), but this makes no difference either.

Can anyone help as this is driving me nuts.

Best Regards,

Rob Brown.

Check to see if the machine has the jet drivers installed on it. You can check in the ODBC Configuration on the control panel.

Check the drivers tab to see if a driver for your type of database is installed. (e.g. Microsoft Access Driver)

Hope this helps

There are two Access Drivers:

Microsoft Access Database (*.mdb)
Microsoft Access 97 Datase (*.mdb)

Thanks anyway.
