Make a shortcut to it (if you haven't already). Then, right click on the shortcut, click Properties. Now, there should be a tab called 'Compatibility' or something. Click on this tab and you should be able to select Win98, Win95, etc. You should probably set it to Win98 emulation (but don't worry, there's no speed loss).

Hmm, It installed, but when I try to run it, the DOS screen just closes. Would Quake work for windows2K? with no special patches.

You may be lucky
Lo M8y.
Quake won't work on XP at all, not even with the compatability mode enabled, although you may be lucky with 2k Pro.
Get yourself a copy of Virtual PC for Windows, and install Win98/Me in an image... no speed loss, no dual boot... no problem.
Why quake anyway? It's an awful game... prefer the v.oldies like Full Throttle ! LOL
Good luck anyway.

Paul.

Get GLQuake. Runs perfectly on 2000 (I tested it) so it should be ok on XP. Uses OpenGL so it runs a damn sight faster.
