Subform without dbGrid?

A particular db application I'm developing requires acces to patient records and lens order records. I need to be able to view the patient and order records on a parent/child or form/subform basis. The catch is that there is an enormous amount of information that is a part of each order that using a simple dbGrid is unacceptable... Is there any way to attach regular controls like textboxes and comboboxes to the lens order table and keep the parent/child relationship with the data?
