animated gif and Flash

I wanted to use a flying bird (gif) in my FLASH movie..it worked only in the first frame..not worked in the following frames(it did not move its wings) How can I make this gif work all way long...?thanks

anyway it depends on the way you have imported it
try to make a symbol(movie clip) and then import the gif(File->import) this will make the gif like a gif;)
