direct draw examples

microsoft says i have direct draw examples that came with directx, one of which named Ddex1....search found nothing on my computer, but i just installed directX8???? um :confused:

I don't think DirectDraw is included in DirectX 8. IIRC DirectDraw can only be found in DX7 and later...

The DX8 SDK doesn't include any DirectDraw material (docs or samples) anymore as DirectDraw and Direct3D were merged into DirectGraphics (which essentially means that DirectDraw was removed). The older DirectDraw of version 7 is still supported but it won't be extended anymore.
