Hi,

My mother installed Win2k a month ago, on her pc, and it all worked great. But suddenly a lot of ASCII codes don't work anymore. For example, if my mother types ALT + 129, nothing happens, but ALT + 130 does work.

Is there a way to 're-install' the ASCII's?

You don't install ASCII.
Its just like there.

Are you sure num lock is turned on when she tries this ?

Just had a look at the Windows ascii chart - 129 is not supported by windows.

For the best list in MSDN/Vb help, look in the index for "Ascii character set", then select both "character set" options that come up ;)

just realised I've copied it to an Excel sheet for nicer printing (1 page, rather than the 4 if you print straight from MSDN)

Oh guys, one last question: How comes ALT-129 DOES work on Win98 but not Win2k? Why has it been changed?

no idea... maybe it's just a different font - some of them use the characters that are normally not used (try wingdings)
