The Search screen has the following description below the left-hand input box
Advanced query: Join words with AND, OR and NOT to control your search in more detail.
Add asterisks (*) to use wild cards in your search (*bullet* matches vBulletin etc.)
Until today the use of the * did not have any effect. That situation has changed and it does work now.

Is it just me or does AND not do anything? I swear there's been times that I searched for something like 'Form AND hook' and got everything from 'Borderless Form' to 'Whipcream flavored forms' and none of which had the word 'hook' anywhere.

That too was corrected when the wildcard change was made, so now AND does work. BTW here is a little search trick that you can now use. The lower limit on word length is 3 so if you try to search for IP address you will get an error. You can however successfully search if you use IP*address.
