I came across this beautiful piece of instructions on using the forums to newbies. We would be better off with a similar post sticking at the top of every forum, too.
However, when you mention things like: search the forum, search the articles, search the FAQ thread (that's my addition :p) etc. you should also give the relevant URLs, for e.g. the URL to the search page, the URL to the VB World Articles section and the URL to the relevant FAQ thread. That will be a much better post than simple plain-text advice.
So, do we get a "Before Posting ..." now ? :)
