    McAfee

I just switched over to McAfee (bad? )

Anyways, I was wondering, just like Norton had the Virus Definition Updates, what is it with McAfee?

I keep getting something like SuperDAT... what the **** is SuperDAT?

    http://www.mcafee-at-home.com/naicom...ad/updates.asp

Where can I get the new virus definitions for McAfee?

    Version 6.00.1076
    Engine Version 4.1.40
    Virus Definitions 4.0.4157

No no no Norton = bad Mcafee = good!

    You have 2 choices:

    1) SuperDat. As you've discovered superdat is an .exe that combines both the Virus Definition FIles and any other updates like Engine updates.
Your about 100 Dat files behind and running an old engine.

    2) COnfigure AutoUpdate.
Double-CLick Mcafee SysConsole in the systray. The maginyinbg glass.
    a) dbl_click AutoUpdate
    b) Click COnfigure
    c) Make sure the default site is enabled.
    d) On the advanced tab make sure "Update scan engine if newer one exists" and force update are both checked.
    e) Click ok then click Run Now.
    f) Wait for it to finish.

I find norton very annoying and stupid. Although I disable it, I notice that it is still running (in the task manager, I can see it). I like mcafee better. Btw I had a virus once that mcafee couldnt find it but norton did.

Also evil norton thinks visual studio .net is a virus and whenever I run it, it says that virus like activity detected gotto get tid of it

There is an option that is supposed to IGNORE this forever, but it doesnt work every now and then it pops up again and starts annoying me. It's the nature of all symantec products! believe me!
