First off, I didn't like the way the My Network Places handled other clients. so I went to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\NetHood, made a folder for each computer on my network and then copied the corresponding shortcuts into each folder. I was happy with that til now. I have noticed that when I save documents to one of those rives a new shortcut appears in My Network Places and, also I logon to MSN Groups and now an icon shortcut has appeared as well.

In Windows 2000 Pro, all I did to fix this problem was to right clickon the nethood folder, select security and say deny to writing, BUT in XP Pro that option isnt there.\
