    Java 3D

Quick question... With todays computers, could a game, similar to FFX for PS2, made with Java 3D for DirectX run fast enough?

Today's computers range anywhere from P-233s to P4-2.6gigs. I'd say that the higher range could take it, but not the lower range. Plus, it would look crap if not in DirectX, which I am not sure is even available to Java.

And try not to flame, this is a Q&A board.

I wasnt trying to flame him, It just pisses me off when people are gay about things, I only asked for some help, and all he cares about is what title the forum has.

You could probably get some decent speeds, though Java could end up being your bottleck. Depends on the cpu speed, gpu speed, and the amount of logic you need.

    Till NoteMe:
Heter "@" alfakroll på norska? På svenska heter det snabel-a

BTW, sorry for my bad english, and sorry for my rudeness...
I don't know if DirectX is available in Java... but I've heard of Java3D, i don't know how to use it.

Perhaps you two should start a thread in Chit Chat?

The graphics would be fast enough. The slow parts would be (like in VB games) any CPU intensive logic, like AI or collision detection.
