Recognizing handwriting in Word XP
There is that Writing Pad that comes with MS Word. You can draw whatever you want there (handwrite something) and it will recognize and convert it to typed text. Is that only for the "image" you draw on the writing pad or can you use a scanned picture if you want it converted to typed text?

Do a search on OCR (Optical Character Recognition) There are a lot of programs out there that do that. The handwriting has to be pretty well written to get a good read unfortunatly. Scanned images of typed text can be read fairly well.

can you only use this for certain language versions of MS Office or for the English version too?

I have the English version and I tried it with English language. In the help it says that it is available for Chinese, North Korean, and some other languages. Not sure if you can use other language in the English version (might be different language version of Word for different languages).

Nice suggestion. I just tried it and second time it gave me the word "Stood". MS recognizes my scrambling LOL.
