What the hell is up with my mouse?
I work with an HP (Thank you for your sympathy).
I have a two button scroller mouse which sucks mule buttocks.
However, when scrolling in a webpage or application... occasionally the line that is being scrolled will go up and down suddently, like i'm wiggling the scroll button up and down.
It's rather annoying when I'm trying to scroll down a website, like this one, to find the answers i need in a column.
Anyone having this problem? ANyone? Buehler?

What type of scroller?/
Is it the type where it does a smooth motinon up and down, or does it kind of stick when you push the scrooler up and down. If it is one that kinda clicks, then it is normal, it happens all the time becuase its right in the middle of a click, but then as you move your finger back up to scroll again, it goes back up, causing that motion that you were so annoyed by. If its a scroller that moves smoothly, I dont know what to tell you!

Ya, check for mouse boogers.
and loose wires.
Next, make sure you have the correct driver loaded.
I have a MS scroll mouse, which worked with the default driver, but
would exhibit strange behavior sometimes.
I dl an updated MS driver package and it now works like new.
... which brings us to our fourth option.
Bring $14 to the nearest electrongic store, and exchange it for a new mouse.

I 'sort of clicks' as you describe it when I scroll up or down. It's damned annoying though.
HP's driver selection sucks as well. You can't even download *just* the driver for the mouse off their site.
I might have to just break down and buy a mouse myself because I know the boss isn't going to do it.
Thanks,

I know this sounds strange, but the best bet is to download Microsoft's Intellimouse drivers - they work for all mice (as far as I know), and seem to remove problems like this

My mouse was doing the same thing a few weeks back. It's a Microsoft IntelliMouse, about four or five years old. It was driving me nuts. Turns out it was just a bit of fluff that got stuck in under the wheel.

Stuck in the 80s
Buy one of those cool Microsoft Optical Mice with a wheel. They're sweet! Just dont' stare at the laser too long. It starts to burn a bit.

I'd do that, save yourself a bit of trouble. They are like $10 for opticals anyway.
I'm bringing geeky back...
