Book? You just need a bunch of metal and wires and stuff! :p
But seriously, I learned by taking them apart. That's always how we learned to do it in a A+ Certification class I took.
So if you have an old computer not in use, open it up, tear it apart, and try to put it back together.
Just be carefull. Make sure everything's unplugged and use a rubber mat or something to demagnitize yourself.
It can be fun!
