Best thing you can do now is do a full format and re-install everything. Thats the best way to proceed.

Reformats suck, good only as last resort!
I think Microsoft might have directions on how to manually uninstall the beta framework.

He should do a format and re-install since he already deleted some of the files. That way he'll get a clean start and wont have to worry about any orphaned files been left over.

Samething happen to me and I tried most of the fixes on the MS site but none of them worked not even the cleaner.exe thing they have. I had to do a format and reinstall

I suppose a reformat is the best thing to do, but also the most annoying.
What about System Restore? Do you have a restore point that far back?

thanks for your replies.
Reformat is out of the question, since I have Beta 2 on my work laptop. I have too many other Public folders and stuff to back up at moment.
I will reinstall Beta 2 on Wednesday and try again to uninstall it with the uninstall option supplied for this. I have spoken to someone who has done it this way. it took him over four hours
