How to check window type
Does anyone know how to check if the window is a dialog box or a normal browser window in IE?

As in the ModalDialogBox attribute? I'll see if I can dig something about that I seen in the Script Debugger help file(s) (check them out; some good stuff on ASP, VBS, even Javascript - usually right there on your HD!)
P.S: To read the help files without actually opening the Debugger (and closing the browser with it afterwards - very annoying...), it's default path is "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\IDE\IDE98\MSE\1033\" - works for me...

Not there...
Actually, just searched through the file, could find it... then again, could be in one of the other files
