VB.net Books

Hi,
Im a programmer wannabe & have used the idiots guide to VB6 (click here (http://geocities.com/ultimateprograms/game) & here (http://geocities.com/ultimateprograms/error2) )but as im only a beginner I'd better start again w/ VB.net. Im looking 4 a good book that will take me in 1 go from beginner to intermediate+ (w/ all these beginner guides u find, where has the intermidiate gone? no books there...?)
I have found these books, which 1 would u recommend?:
VB.net- complete reference
VB.net step by step (m$ press)
vb.net by example
vb.net black book (I was seriously considering this 1 but it looks as if its all over the place- also covering web programming, etc)
vb.net complete

Get Beginning VB.NET from Wrox Press or VB.NET and the .NET Platform from A! Press.

Both are excellent books and highly recomended.

if you understand the basics of programming get Programming Microsoft Visual Basic.net by MS press its big its brief and it covers just enough to give you an idea on the basics of most of the dvanced features in vb.net and also if you think you need more basic stuff get the step by step book for vb.net by ms press for now ms press has the best books but hopefully soon o'rielly will start to out out some books on .net in all its aspects like write assemblies in c++ for the .net framework or ADO.Net in a nutshell and the like

if there is a vb.net in a nutshell i say buy that

i've got the beginning to visual basic.net from wrox... very good book!! not for the COMPLETE beginner to progamming, but it you have a basic idea of how oop works... it'll be the best

So all in all the best option would be:
Programming Microsoft Visual Basic.net ?
Covering the some basics (which I should already know coz of my xperience w/ vb6...- any1 checked out the links?) but mainly intermediate & advanced...
Is it one of those 1000+ pages books? (If so, good!) coz I just need 1 CLEAR book to get me a long way.
Better have a look on amazon...

Just thought I shd add my 2 cents, I have refered to vb.NET black book by steven holzner and I would say It was one **** of a book cause it only covered many topics but just on the surface giving you a feeling of "wasted" so much time on the book (its 1000+ pages). if its plain beginners stuff u looking for then perphaps its a good book for u for it does have many code snippets.

do you want to get an all in one? VB is so big, and vb.net is bigger. I would personally prefer having like a beginning, intermediate, and advanced book. Much easier to read.

I'd be fine w/ buying 3 books but as long as they r easy to read & learn from. Thats why I joined this community - 2 c if u could recommend any books that will get me a long way.

anything could lead to a programming carear i think. my first app was a flip book of pictures and my second was a AOL prog. after suck great programs i later found myself working at a bank writing SQL and loops all day

most people frawn on AOL programming at least they used to. yeah i like yours. very good.

what type of encryption do u use?

i do a three level encryption i do a byte shift base on a password then i convet the results to hex then i do another byte shift based on a second internal value the user is unaware of. but now i'll have to change it since i told you.
