    wireless

    Linksys Wireless Router
    with
    Orinco Gold PCMIA Card

Good Combo? I heard the Linksys Router was good but Linksys PCMIA card had poor range, thus the vendor mismatch above. Any experience/comments?

    Thanks

my system is totally unmatched. the only problem you will have is that you will have to tell the software of the wireless card the name of the "hub" that you use. The software will automatically find the access point, but won't necessarily automatically use it. Mine was supposed to have a "select" option from a list, but it was always grayed out. I use a hybrid network in my house. My wife's computer is in the other room and is wirelessly networked because i dont want wires running everywhere. It uses a usb connection to a wireless lan connection.
    her transmitter's brand: Speedstream
    my wireless access point: Americom
    my router: D-Link
as you can see, mismatching doesn't matter. they have a standard.
