consider the unit circle (radius 1, centered at origin). join any point on that circle to the origin, and the angle it makes with the line segment is theta. that point (x,y) is expressed as (cost,sint), where t is theta. since the point is on the circle, it satisfies the equation of the circle: x^2+y^2=1 or cos^2(t)+sin^2(t)=1
if you wanted a website u could've just done a search on Yahoo!
