I think you mean the bits where there are no people, and the bits where people haven't dumped all their rubbish on.

(which doesn't leave a lot, really).

I love Scotland. I am actually (sheepish) English, but my wife and two kids are Scots, I suppose. Couldn't afford to live around London anymore anyway... Besides, there's no room to with all that rubbish about.

Ok so Scotland really rocks...but the rest of the place is full of whingers. Last time l was there, the place was cold, damp, and full of pollution.

You guys may want to have John Howard, he could have a warm beer with Tony Blair, then we could get on with the job of having an Aussie Republic. Ruth Cracknell for President.

Any by the way the Northern Spirit would do all your teams!!!!!!!!!:):):):):):):) Well not really could probably match it with the Scumthorpe Womens Auxiliary team though.

Hey markwestcott, I used to line in Oxhey Ave, and then in Grange Road (ok, technically that's Bushey), where you at?

And who the hell put all that stuff about Northern Line Spirits in my post? I used to go on the northern line and there was plenty of empty bottles but...

Ok my company have a sale in England...however with that they want some Universe/VB resources to spend a year or so adding mods etc.......

Ok so the Creature from the Black Lagoon, (my Boss) asked me and another guy if we would be interested in going to London to do the work........Hmmmm.......apparently the client will pick up our salaries and is offering a contract rate of 35...hmmm they don't have pound symbols on the keyboards anymore. Is this good? What is the range of contract rates in the UK and particularly in London.

Is this enough to support a family of three, including rent etc.

Any help gratefully recieved

Ianpbaker
Jun 14th, 2000, 03:17 PM
Hi Jethro

£35 an hour is about average for vb programming with all the big bucks contracts normally now going to web stuff where you can get anything up to about £50 an hour for ASP(I'm Doing this at the moment:D).

As for living expenses, it depends on where you want to stay. If your thinking of living in central London then be warned, there are lots of nice areas to stay but can be very expensive. My suggestion is to find a nice house on the outskirts of London and commute in. if you do this the price of the house will be a damn site more cheaper.

Hope this helps

Ian

I can't believe that Martin confessed right after your doll left. He should have kept his mouth shout. Whilst watching GMTV this morning I discovered that they were having a poll on whether Gail should dump Martin?? What does any-one reckon??? I reckon she definately should - even though she looks like a gerbil she could probably pull again.
I agree with the football lover - I could definately not possibly eat dessert without choclate!! I can't imagine anything worse!! (apart from football)

Soaps and football.

The opiates of the proletariat (but internationals ARE different - war by other means, fantastic jingoism! makes you proud etc etc!).

Jun 15th, 2000, 03:47 AM
Football is boring and full of actors. Switch onto Rugby Union....the game they play in heavan. Go the Blacks!!!

The ABC (aussie BBC clone) canned Cornation Street much to my Wifes horror.......

parksie
Jun 15th, 2000, 11:54 PM
yer right about that. I'm in Malvern, BTW (Worcester for everyone else). What's the problem with football? I think it's great fun - especially when you take your man down with stud marks all over his shins / thighs / backside / face / chest / back / feet / etc.

PS: GOOD LUCK ENGLAND ON SATURDAY AND TEACH THOSE BL**DY GERMANS A LESSON!!!!!! (nice of them to take Bierhoff off...)

Jun 19th, 2000, 09:54 AM
How many times have ya seen it. A player is brought down, he then proceeds to roll around on the ground for a few minutes pretending he is in agony.:(:(:(

Any self respecting Rugby player would carry on with the gasme and get even in a ruck or maul

I also think a public execution is in order for mister Nevile. I will more than willingly take the role of executioner.

I think a slow death is in order though. Maybe a bit of torture as well. Finished by using his head as a football in a match that we beat gemany 3-0.

ron hunter
Jun 20th, 2000, 04:15 PM
Real fantasy Iain!!!!!

Beating Germany 3-0!!!!!! They are the poorest Germany team I've ever seen but England could only manage a 1-0 win

I can't understand why people sit in front of a TV for however long those soaps are on, every week, watching fake people go about their fake lives, and then debate what they should do when the script has already been written.

"And in this week's phone in, should Brian start eating Alpen for breakfast and stop eating cornflakes? Is it healthier? Will the old cornflakes go stale? Phone in and tell us what you think."

Madness.

I agree that the normal premiership or whatever games aren't that interesting, but internationals are pretty good. If you don't care, that's fine, doesn't bother me :)

Oh yeah, the point of the thread...

*Raises hand* Yeah England here. I'm in Somerset and Surrey, depending.

frank ashley
Jun 20th, 2000, 09:13 PM
Harry,

spot on about the soaps.

re Football,

At least kk admitted we were crap. He should have his contract renewed for honesty.

To become an England footballer you should have to pass some kind of test, like kicking a ball through a moving very small hole 85 times out of 100. At least then you could prove that you could pass accurately.

:)

HarryW
Jun 20th, 2000, 10:15 PM
Hey maybe all the other national football teams should have to do that test instead, that way there'd be nobody else to beat us ;)

The Way the english Fans Behaved out there was absolutley
Disgusting and should get everything they deserve.
Being English my self, it really angers me that all us english are portrayed as these yobs becuase they ruin it for the rest of us normal people with more than teo brain cells

On a lighter note, Maybee england would have done better if they played like are fans behaved, Going around kicking two bags of shite out of everybody else and not giving a monkey's Hoot about the game. That way they wouldn't have any other players left to play against.

HarryW

I don't think that bald Italian referee would have any nonsense though, he's a bit scary, he'd probably take the offending team down himself ;)

Will we ever see football like that again?

Spain v Yugoslavia
Holland v France

Both cracking matches with everything! Great Goals, skill, passion, tension, effort, sportsmanship.......

It should be what the games all about. Lets just hope we see Holland v France in the final....something to look forward to.
