Im working on a problem that is presented in the form of. 6x-3y / 9x2y-2. Now i know that a-n = 1 / an. So my question is why is x-3/ x2 broken down into 1 \ x[2-(-3)]?

x-3 / x2
= x-3 * x-2
= x-3-2
= 1 / x2+3
= 1 / x2-(-3)
All comes out as x-5

x^(2-(-3)) comes out to be x^5. 1/x^(2-(-3)) comes out to be x^(-5)
