You ain't meant to mention other sites which contain vb code or controls. I didn't know that. What are the actual rules.

Just to clarify... Chimp posted a link to download the exes for Visual Basic 6. Feel free to link to VB source code, just not VB itself. :)

john, maybe he didnt understand why you didnt want the link,

downloading commercial software(stuff that costs $$$) off of the internet, is called "Warez" which is illegal, there is a rumor that you can download it and test it, and if its deleted off of your computer within 24 hours, its legal.
but I dont think this is true.

when you download warez, you are breaking copyright laws, because more than likely there is more than one person using the single licence copy of the software at a time.

it may be legal if your company had a website, and they had a 5 or 6 user licence, and they allowed you(you as an employee of there company) to download a copy and use one of there 5 or 6 licences...
but I am sure this is not the case with the site chimp face posted.

and us as developers should hate warez, what if our program's that we develop for peole commercially, get on one of these sites. we should help bring them down, not give them more hits.

Hi,
Although I do not condone copying copyrighted software, how does what ChimpFace9000 did differ from Napster or the other sites that allow you do download copyrighted "SoundWare"?

I know this is the upmost of naivite but Napster isn't necesarrily made for transfering MP3's illegally, it could be a great place for unsigned artists to distrubute their music. Thats not what it's used for but...
