listen this !
i dont know why i put this text here on this forum but ....
if we have a supper computer we could solove the problem of future ,space, past etc.
u have a ,i dont know ,about 100 command For and
for i1=1 to 256
for i2=1 to 256
....
for i1000=1 to 256
and now u paint a picture where i1,i2,i3,.....,i1000 is a color of pixels
and that is all picturs in the world and much more u can get everything what u want ,but also u can get pictures which (actualy)lol doesnt exist.
and that would be very nice but that program would be working about 86.000.000.000.000.000.000 years and our SPACE is about 10^12 years so nothing until we invite a VERY sUPEr comPUTER...
huh
bye
:)
{my english is so bad ,and i dont know will somebody understand me!!}:)

that would just make random colors?
mmiill
Jul 1st, 2002, 07:58 AM
think....!!!!!
that would be all combination of colors and that means all picture
everything what u can (photograph) u can put on your computer.and when u ,useing program, make all of the combination of colors u get all the picture which uve seen until now but also the picture which doesnt exist....
just think ,and ull see it is very simple.(not just random colors)

you have a point. if we saw all possible combinations of pixels, we could techinically see everything now and everything later, and everything there ever was.

thats right!!
i can see for ex. u and me playing basketball whit o'nill and coby lol ,but also u can see yourself 50 years old......

i guess technically it would work, but finding that 1 picture in the billions of possibilities would be extremely painful, especially when only 1 pixel has to be off

i cant anymore write and explaning on(in) english.so if u want to know everything about that try to find a man who speaks serbian lol:

Nice thinking, only one problem:
For all 800x600 pictures with 256 colours, there are:
256480000 different pictures.
number of digits of 256480000
= int(480000* log(256)) = 1,155,955
=> 256480000 > 101155955
OVER 1 MILLION DIGITS!!
This would take WAY TOO LONG!!!
And... this is only for 800x600 with 256 colours.
Vision is much better than 2 billion pixels, 32 million colours.
With THESE there are
200000000032000000
#of digits
=int(32000000*log(2000000000)) = 297,632,959
i.e. over 1/4 of a BILLION DIGITS!!!
This would take MUCH longer than possible!
GOod thinking though.

even if we could do that it would not matter at all. Sure there would be a picture of you holding a winning lottory ticket. or about to give the pope a good kick on the ass but it won't happen. You could just as easily imagine that in your mind. The problem is telling which picture will actually turn out to be right

sql_lall,
You could cut that down a bit to just see bits of the future - perhaps every face that has or could ever exist.
Using a small pic of 64*64 pixels and only black, white and two shades of grey you should be able to recognise faces - look at the fine avatars around this site.
The sum then comes down to 4096^4 or 281,474,976,710,656.
still a big number but nearer to being possible.
This would still produce faces, well anything, from any distance and at any orientation. Maybe a bit of cleverness could reduce the possibilities still further.
It might be interesting to see what the limits of resolution are when one face can be identified as being different from another.

And once you have 281,474,976,710,656 pictures, who is going to sort through all 281 trillion to find the useful ones:p:confused: ?

yes its correct its going to work about 10^15 years ,and that is too much but ive just wanted to show an idea ,and of course that would be almost the unreal pictures, but also u would be able to see u in future, for example, and that is very interesting.

with a powerful engine, useing even MORE cpu power those faces could be run through a computer to find the ones that vaugely match a human face. Some fuzzy logic employed there. because the very first one (a black avatar) would be pretty stupid.
Whats interesting about the pictures of the future idea is that you could compile them into a movie and have a home movie of the future. :p you could also be charged for the piracy of every book, movie, or pretty well any copywrited item because you would have (for books) pictures of all the pages, for movies every single one of the slides, including the one which actually didn't happen of mel gibson picking his nose (i bet the paparazzi would pay for that), and for copywrited items, every design schematic for all the super secret government nuclear weapons projects etc.

So does that mean I can sue someone now for getting taking an obscene picture of me in the shower without my permission. I'll get them on voyeur charges. I really need the money.... err... I mean, I feel so violated.

It really surprises me to see this. I've been pondering on this very issue for over a year. I came to the conclusion that unless we could create a program that could to an extent recognise a picture as being 'distinguishable' then we'd never find that 1 picture out of the trillions of combinations. We can't see the future; we could picture something which may occur, but a picture gives no indication of feelings etc. There's so much more to a scene than just a visual image.
You know there's a Hindu believe that a system exists called the 'Akashic Records' (I'm not religious just making a fun point :)) These records supposedly are a record of everything (feeling picture sound etc.) that ever was, is, or will be. If we can create a program using microwaves and what not :D we might be able to connect to this akashic system (using TCP of course :p) and retrieve these images without going through the random generator system...Just an idea ;)

Ok. Last night before I went to bed I created a program that randomly generates an image of dimensions 320x320. I set it to save each image to a directory and went to bed. Got up in the morning and found my hard drive to be full with 2.42GB of bmp images :D I viewed them all in thumbnail form (14,946 images) which took a considerable amount of time I can tell you. Anyway, from what I could see there was no distinguishable images to be found - everything just looked like fuzz on a T.V screen. I guess this is the future; the future's fuzzy ;)
I've attached one of the images created...we could save this is an average looking image. The image is number 9322.

LOL
that picture is very interesting :D
yes,of course nothing .u say hmhmmh about 14000 pic but if u take paper and pencil u'll see that there is about (min) 10000000^256 an it is 7*256= 1792
10000000000000000..........................................0000000000000
\------------------------------- -----------------------------------------/
..........................................\ /
...........................................\/
.........................................1792 X {0}
but i think u know story about CHEES
1+2^1+2^2+ ..... + 2^63 =2^64 -1
and if we plant the wheat all over the world we can't get 2^64 {seed} (sorry im looking at the dictionary and writeing this)
u can imagine how it is ,but 2^64<2^63=8^21<10^21
2^64 has less digits than 10^21 and that is 21
just look at our number above it has 1792 digits (dont forget story about WHEAT planted all over the world :D
:D :D :D :D :D :o :o :o :o :o

Isn't this along the lines of, if you have an infinite number of monkeys typing on type machines, and an infinite amount of time youd eventualy get all the works of shakesphere and in the 8 major languages?? or something..
Also, you could perhaps minimize the calculations if you focused on a certain area. Heres an example.
Lets say a nice open shot of landscape with blue sky, and green grass that meet at the horizon. Take a picture of that area that is say at the resolution of 800x 600 etc.
If you used that as a base, you could create exemptions to limit the amount of pictures created.. IE, your not likely going to get green pixels in the bluest part of the sky. So basicly you could do pixel by pixel comparisons allowing for only %limited deviations. This would just about illiminate the millions of just randomized scattered pixels. Grant there would still be a LOT of pictures, but would greater improve the odds in a shhorter time.
