Good books in c#?

What are some of good books in c#?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have two right now...

The first is called Programming C# 2nd edition by Jesse Liberty and published by O'Reilly. I am undecided on this one. If you have a bit of experience with C++ or Java, this may be the book for you. The book is smaller than most programming books, so that means you usually get one example, and one explaination per topic. If you don't understand, tough, the book is moving on with or without you. It might be a good reference book later, who knows. My final thought: maybe look for something else, I don't think I would buy this book again.

The other C# book I have is called Programming Microsoft Windows With C# by Charles Petzold and published by Microsoft Press. I can sum up this book as a reference to the different types of controls and how to use them, drawing, fonts, printing, and imaging. This isn't something I will be reading all the way through like other books, it will be a reference book for me. The information IS indepth on most topics that I have read though, which is really good when your trying to figure things out.

So that is it for my book experience...I hope there are better ones out there, because those two that I have just don't cut it. I have ordered two more books, and will keep you up to date on how they are when they get here.

Suggesting a good book is always kind of difficult. It depends on what you already know and how you learn. I have O'Reilly's programming C# and personally, I love anything by O'Reilly. Usually what I do when I need a book is look at amazon.com and look at the comments other readers have made. Most of the time, I can spot the books that are at the level I want by what other people say. Answering, What's a good book is nearly impossible unless you tell us where you are and what you need.

I have this huge end all be all book released by Microsoft called "Programming Windows with C#" and this book is huge, and its awsome, goes over everything, its a hard cover book 1290 pages of pure C#.... Just my personal addition...

A great book to get started with C# etc. is C# and the .NET Platform (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1893115593)

This is the best book I've read on C# so far and I've read quite a few. Don't ever buy books from Petzold or Grimes unless you just need a reference. These guys know a lot about programming, but they don't know how to teach it.

If you buy the Troelsen book, you won't be sorry. You will be up and running in a week or so...

I'd also recommand C# and the .NET Platform from APress. I'm originally a VB programmer and I found this book easy to understand and the examples are good and clear.
