To .NET or not to .NET - That is the Question
Hello All,
I've just happily procured a copy of VS .NET, and after looking at it, I am somewhat impressed. However, I can tell there will be somewhat of a learning curve.
So, I am currently developing an application (about 30% done), and I am unsure if I should just continue in VB6, or switch to .NET.
What are you all doing? Is the trend just to convert everything to .NET and immediatly go from there, or are people sticking with VB6 until the .NET framework is more widespread?
Thankd!

For me personally, I am doing all new development in .Net, but leaving my older stuff in VB6. I might do a complete rewrite later. If your VB6 apps are working, why would you need to rewrite them?

Depends on the app.
We are currently maintaining vb6 apps already out and in use, but new development is being pushed towards .net.
Currently
IBM have not certified .net for their db products so we are still using vb6 for development work with them. (Currently receiving massive training in .net to see if we will jump).
All existing products being maintained in version 6.
A couple of developments may be moved to .net due to web services which would resolve issues.... or create them of course...
