    Cable Select

    Cable Select - anyone use it? I'm trying it, it seems to work fine for a WD hard drive (20GB 7200RPM newer one). Any pros/cons, other than making IDE jumpers idiot-proof?

    When I was a tech the other techs swore by cable select. I use it from time to time but stuck in my ways. I don't trust computers to do anything right unless I give them strict instructions But no, I have never had or heard of any pros cons or problems besides ease of switching drives on the IDE to switch from master / slave.
