not directly qualified to answer ( ) but something like 60% of Germans want the mark back because retailers used it as an excuse to hike prices by a good 40% across the board

    I like it.
It does feel like your money is slipping away faster than you'd expect, but thats just a mental thing.

All in all I like it.

I handled some euro notes/cons for the first time a couple of months. First thing I thought was "hmm, monopoly money notes and chocolate money coins"

so all in all, it appears to be moderately successful?

Must be nice to not have to worry about changing money all the
time ... not to mention the 2-5% charge for the changing service.

The effect won't be seen now - wait for Brussels to start setting interest rates

All in all I'm still not 100% pro.
I was very anti in the beginning but after a few months I got used to it.

The cross border thing is definately the best part about it but the increased prices (and yes, they have increased no matter what our political spin doctors try to sell us), the central interest thing, the dependance on the big economies and so on are still a big worry.

But I'm moderately confident. It won't go away for a long while and I'm in any case a staunch EU defender so I'll just accept the euro as a part of it. It's not like I have any other choice, do I ?
