I was wondering if anyone can help me. I've just started up my laptop for the first time in ages, and for some reason it won't recognise any CD that I put into D drive. If I double click on the D:\ logo in My Computer, it just says "Please insert a disk", as if I haven't.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this problem?

Try accessing the CDROM through DOS. Windows 98 boot disks have CDROM drivers on them.
If it doesn't work then, the CDROM drive is screwed, and you need to call the manufacturer for a replacement.
